What is Kisiwa, Manda?
The Swahili word Kisiwa, translates to Island, and that's exactly what Manda, and Lamu are. Kisiwa house is located on Manda Island, less than a minute away from the beach, and just a ten-minute boat ride across from Shella village, on Lamu Island. Manda is rich in history, and apart from its picturesque beaches, also contains lush mangrove forests, teeming with birds, crabs, and various other small animals.
